Maravillas Negras y Silencio. sources come from piano recordings and soundscapes made at the end of 2017 in Ecuador, my home country. It has inadvertently turned out to be the younger brother of "Tu brüles, la valeur est ta flamme". Both works deal with mourning and the grief of loss. However, on this occasion the subject is much less solemn, it does not refer to the loss of the living world and the limits of political change as its predecessor .The distress to which these ashen sketches allude is an intimate and rather trivial matter in current times (relationships, seeds that never blossom, departures and sending heartfelt greetings to the void) Ironically, it is also a work that appears in one of the worst times for the business of self-deprecating lyricism that is masterfully expressed in the sonnet by Garcilaso that you'll find in the liner notes in its original Spanish version: ..And most of all what I lack now’s the light/ of hope, that used to guide me as I strayed/ through the dark and lonely land of your disdain.
